It’s
difficult to find anyone who hasn’t heard of Miley Cyrus; after all she’s never
far away from the media and the public eye these days. After her drastic image
change, introducing ‘twerking’ to the world and admitted drug use amongst many
other things she has become known for, we’re always waiting for her next
episode of antics. But Miley wasn’t always being noticed for her outrageous behaviour;
it’s hard to remember that she was once a Disney sweetheart.
At the young
age of 9, Miley took on her first acting role in a television series which
starred her father Billy Ray Cyrus. At 11, she also took on a role in Tim
Burton’s film Big Fish. But it was at the age of 12 when her celebrity career
really took off. When Miley turned 12 she was offered the role of Hannah
Montana on the Disney channel where she played a teen pop-star who hid her true
identity from the world. Through the show she released a number of albums, a 3D
film and even launched a tour as her character Hannah Montana.
A few months
later Miley made the headlines once again after her somewhat outrageous
performance at the MTV video music awards ceremony where she took to twerking up
against singer Robin Thicke and dancing provocatively with a foam finger.
In between
her public outbursts of shocking behaviour, Miley has also been known for
openly arguing with father Billy Ray Cyrus over Twitter, posting raunchy
pictures of herself online and generally gaining attention from the world for,
what some would say, the wrong reasons.
Our question
is, what has caused Miley to undergo such a dramatic change? Was so much fame
at such a young age a factor? Is it the start of a celebrity ‘meltdown’? Tell
us what you think.
